Privacy Policy

Last updated 28 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Yum Yum Art ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit our website or place an order. We are the "data controller" of your personal data for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at hello@yumyumart.co.uk.

1. The information we collect

We only collect what we need to run the shop and fulfil your order:

  • Order & contact details — your name, email address, delivery address and order history.
  • Payment information — card payments are handled securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Enquiries — anything you send us through the contact form.
  • Technical data — basic information your browser provides (such as IP address and device type) and essential cookies needed for the site and your basket to work.

2. How and why we use it

We process your personal data on the following lawful bases:

  • To perform our contract with you — taking payment, dispatching your order, and sending order confirmation and dispatch emails.
  • Our legitimate interests — responding to enquiries, preventing fraud, and improving our products and service.
  • Legal obligation — keeping records (such as sales and tax records) for the periods required by law.
  • Your consent — only where you have opted in, for example to receive marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.

3. Sharing your information

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted providers who help us run the shop, and only as far as needed:

  • Stripe — to process payments securely.
  • Delivery & postal partners — to ship your order to you.
  • Email & hosting providers — to send transactional emails and host the website.

Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as UK-approved standard contractual clauses) are in place.

4. How long we keep it

We keep order and transaction records for as long as necessary to fulfil your order and to meet our legal and accounting obligations (generally up to six years). Enquiry messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with your query.

5. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate data;
  • ask us to erase your data ("right to be forgotten"), where applicable;
  • restrict or object to our processing of your data;
  • request a copy of your data in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@yumyumart.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies that are required for the website and your shopping basket to function. We also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used and improve it — these are only set if you choose Accept on our cookie banner, and never for advertising. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's site data, and you can control cookies through your browser settings (though disabling essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working).

7. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.
